A senior executive with P & L and global growth responsibilities was confidentially facing wide-ranging cross-cultural differences with his global team. Misunderstandings and differing sets of expectations were becoming commonplace. Communication style differences (verbal and non-verbal, in French and in English) and management style challenges with his team based in the US, France and Canada were getting in the way of his effectiveness and the organization's profitability. His goal: to develop strategies to improve all of the above for his very survival in the organization and for the global growth of the organization in this very competitive industry. US-Brazil Executive Coaching:
A European manufacturing company with extensive operations in the US, Mexico and Brazil contacted us for executive coaching services to improve the performance of a Brazilian Senior Director with 12 direct reports and over 1,500 Mexican employees. Cross-cultural opportunities, communication challenges (Spanish and Portuguese) and alignment issues had reached the critical stage and intervention was necessary to improve overall profitability and productivity. A series of on-site (in Monterrey, Mexico) coaching sessions together with a whole person coaching tool, the Profile XT, took place over a 4-month period. Results: The intervention was highly successful and all strategic and tactical goals were reached. Requests for additional global team building work for all direct reports was then requested.
